How to reply to a positive app review

Most developers skip positive reviews, so a short, specific thank-you stands out. Mention what the reviewer actually liked and keep it to a sentence or two.

Replace the text in [brackets] before sending.

[Number of years] with [App], wow. Thank you for sticking with us through all the updates. Reviews like yours are honestly what keeps a small team going. [Agent name]

Tips

  • Pick one detail from the review and respond to it; that is the difference between personal and canned.
  • Keep it shorter than the review itself.
  • Sign with a first name; it reminds readers there are people behind the app.
  • If the review mentions an idea, say what you did with it.

Avoid

  • Copy-pasting "Thanks for your feedback!" under every 5 star review.
  • Using the reply to advertise other apps or in-app purchases.
  • Asking a happy reviewer to also rate, share or subscribe.
