Ban upheld

Email

Subject: Your ban appeal for [account or player name]

Hi [Player name],

Thanks for your appeal. A member of our team who wasn't involved in the original decision reviewed your account activity in full.

We found that the account [broke rule: used third-party software that modifies the game / shared the account / harassed other players], which is against our [rules link]. The ban stays in place [permanently / until (date)].

We don't share the specific evidence or how our detection works, because that would help others get around it.

This decision is final for this appeal. If you have new information that we haven't seen, you can reply to this email with it.

Ban overturned

Email

Subject: Your ban has been lifted

Hi [Player name],

We reviewed your appeal and the activity on your account, and we got this one wrong. Your ban is lifted, and you can play again right away.

[Optional: what you're restoring, e.g. "We've also returned the ranked progress lost during the ban" / "We've added (in-game compensation) to your account".]

I'm sorry for the time you couldn't play and the frustration that came with it. Thanks for taking the time to appeal instead of just walking away.

Tips

  • Have someone other than the original reviewer handle appeals, and say so in the reply.
  • Name the rule that was broken and link to it; players accept decisions more easily when they see the rule.
  • When you overturn a ban, apologise plainly and restore what you can.
  • Use the same structure every time so decisions look consistent across agents.

Avoid

  • Describing anti-cheat methods or the exact evidence.
  • Leaving the outcome ambiguous or hinting a second appeal will change it.
  • Sarcasm or moralising, even when the evidence is overwhelming.
